If he plays well, the madness will begin/continue about what a great QB Cousins is, and people will start screaming for him to start, or thinking the Redskins can trade him for multiple first round picks to recoup the losses from the Griffin trade. One of the worst things that can happen is for the unproven, very mediocre Cousins to do well for that very reason. And also because it will give the arrogant Shanahan more ammo to say he was right.
Of course, since Cousins will be facing a horrible Falcons team, then the worst defense in the league with Dallas, and another shoddy outfit in NY, his chances of playing well or winning a game or two aren't too crazy...so he'll win a game or two an/or put up good numbers and the madness will continue.
The only reason this is being done is to keep the silly soap opera drama going. Shanahan hasn't given two squats about Griffin's health to date, now all of a sudden he's concerned about his health? Yeah right.
This whole outfit needs to get blown up and redone from scratch.
