This is what i've asked to myself and to the members here many times.
What if Cousins simply is the better QB for this team?
Griffin had a great rookie season, props to him and much respect where it is deserved, but the NFL, and this team in particular have seen plenty of guys have one good year and then never again play at that elite level.
Griffin even if he is 100% healthy is not what he was before. He may never be again. It sure seems like the skins paid a ransom for a guy who might just be a bust. It won't be the first time it happened here and sadly won't be the last time.
The smartest thing to do, in my opinion, is to put the best QB on the field. If we all of a sudden look different and Cousins plays well, possibly even winning the final 3 games, then the stage should be set for a true competition next off-season. To not do that i think would be stupid. And we could still get picks should they decide to trade Griffin (although very unlikely).
I just wish we were a team where the best man had the job, compared to "we gave up our whole future for this guy, we must start him no mater what", or "he is one of the top paid players, he must start"....
