That said, do you really want to trade Kirk? Why not keep him around until after year 3 so if Griff doesn't click next year, we have a possible solution at the QB spot.

I think you trade him because his value won't be any higher, one thing that has helped a lot of younger QBs is having that veteran backup to help mentor them. Hasselbeck did it for Luck, Griff never had that. So I think we should trade Kirk for a 2nd and a 3rd and sign a potential veteran backup. That can't hurt.
