Whether you're a fan of Cousins or not, you cannot fairly judge him by stats.

Stats provide a relatively objective measure and so cannot just be dismissed.
But since stats are not your thing, let's go with the eyeball test: for us and going back to Michigan State, Cousins has a long-term habit of sometimes making very poor decisions which result in turnovers. Further, he also is not always accurate and has a long-term habit of errant passes being intercepted. Many people have stronger arms and many people are more accurate.
And none of this has to do with a team giving up.
I'm with That Guy. I'm fine if we keep him because he is a decent backup. But many people are decent backups, so the wiser course is through trade to turn him into a player who will see the field.
