At least this time if Garcon has trouble staying healthy the receiving corps won't become nearly the liability it has been in past years. For a while now I've believed that WR's need QB's exponentially more then QB's need them.
However during a QB's formative years the benefit of talent at the receiver position is much more pronounced than when they become fully developed. In other words before you can have a QB reach the Manning/Brees/Brady level of turning scrubs into pro bowlers it's critical to have guys that can 'bail out' a young QB, if for nothing more then to help maintain a high level of confidence in the developing QB.
For example with Manning he benefitted tremendously from having Wayne and Harrison as well as Edgerrin James before reaching the level where he was producing seasons with three thousand yard receivers and encouraging people to put Brandon Stokley on their fantasy team. In more recent times we've seen the impact that Julio Jones and Roddy White have had on Matt Ryan turning him from an ultra efficient game manager into a top teir passer.
For us RG3 has shown us he can produce with a solid at best receiving corps so it'll be interesting to see what he can do with the current stable of receivers.
