I've seen this movie a million times before.
2014: Skins decide to wing it with Safeties. Results might end up being okay but will likely be less then optimal.
Party Line Going Into Season: We got a couple veterans and some young guys we really like so we're not to worried about safety.
2015: Skins either sign a Tier 1/2 Free Agent at safety or use a Day 1/2 draft pick to acquire a promising prospect.
Party Line Going Into Season: We really weren't happy with our safety play last year so we decided to make it a priority this offseason.
Basically not much different from "Oh we swear RG3 is going to be ready for the season and he's going to be the same guy" last year. While this year when everyone gives an RG3 update you notice that players and coaches are exponentially more confident in his knee.
In short
Last Offseason:
RG3 has 'no doubt' knee will be ready for Redskins' opener - Washington Times
This Offseason:
Chris Cooley says RGIII looks like ‘another person’
Notice the difference in tone from "DUDE I SWEAR I'M HEALTHY. NOTHING IS WRONG" to the matter of fact "Yeah he looks great."
