The discussion isn't going away and all of the press releases, letters, foundations, etc. all seem more and more hollow every day. Once sponsors start buckling he won't have a choice. ESPN and MMQB writers are starting to embrace 'Washington' or the 'Washington football team' rather than use Redskins in articles and columns. It's a matter of time before one of the major networks falls in line as well.
Snyder could make SO much more $$ by changing the name. Any current merchandise will be collectors items and any new merchandise becomes the hottest thing going. He's almost being foolish not to make the change.
Personal opinion, I don't care either way. I don't think it's as offensive as some have made it their agenda to make it seem but if it truly offends a segment of people then it should be changed. |
I would personally never buy a single piece of anything if the name and logo change. Period.
