The fact that the public has essentially relied on evidence provided by TMZ to have the league to do the right thing is a problem in and of itself.
In a way it reminds me of the Allies enlisting the help of the Soviets during WW2.

For better or worse it seems TMZ has people who are very good at gathering dirt.
Though I imagine in cases like this its a situation where someone with access to evidence (law enforcement or a casino employee) being sickened by a situation like this and being all too willing to help leak the tape. In short a whistle blower.
