You don't see great coaches call that shit. Most would pound the rock, but if you do pass it's downfield so if intercepted the opponent has a long field to go. If Gruden is learning, it's very slow at this point.
You realize you are exactly wrong, right? A 1 minute drill with time outs, you will always see 8-12 yard outs, trying to take advantage of the open middle and hope the receiver gets out, but with a timeout in the pocket you know you can call if he gets tackled. The long passes only come when there is no more time to move down the field methodically. And you don't pound the rock with less than a minute on the clock, because you need about 3 plays to get into FG position. If you are going to run Morris at that spot, then take a knee and come out and get the ball to start the half - of course had he done that then people would have lamented his lack of aggressiveness.
