I think Gruden wanted his buddy Barry all along and Allen was down for whatever but the buzz got back to the front office somehow that fans were outraged hearing Barry all ready being selected with much better candidates out there. Dan looking at this from a business perspective sees decreased revenue next year and steps in tells these clowns they better interview the best qualified and he has no problem paying top dollar.

A proven D coordnator like Fangio or Phillips doesn't want to coach for an organization with currently no vision, work with Jay Gruden who's way in over his head and will most likely get canned next season, take over a defense with no play makers except Kerrigan, aging injury prone vets (Hall, Orakpo, Cofield, Hatcher, Clark, Porter), and has one of the worst secondaries in the league talent wise. Oh, and the never ending media drama of RG3 I'm sure was a selling point.
