So to be able to use the roster spot, the waived him with an injury designation. If he had cleared waivers, they have the option to put him on IR or give him an injury settlement. Many, many thanks for the detailed explanation. Very helpful. Too bad we lost out on him. Does this mean that the Colts don't waste a roster spot on him in the same way that we would have? In other words, by claiming him off waivers, do they have more flexibility in terms of how they designate him going forward?
