That would have sealed it b/c Cowboys didn't have the time to go that far with about 30 seconds left and no timeouts.

@DanGrazianoESPN

Coughlin: "My fault at the end of end the game, nobody to blame but me. Decision to throw the ball on third down was not a good decision."

Tony Dungy said he had absolutely no problem with the playcall, but Eli has to know if its not there go down. You have to atleast give the potential 10 point lead a look there. Thats all. Ofcourse Coughlin is going to take the blame. He is a stand up dude but u know damn well he is saying to himself, "jesus christ eli fall on your ass dont throw the ball away!" Eli is no rookie. He took a look - had nothing- and made a conscious desicion to throw the ball away. Had they run The Cowboys still would have had roughly 45-50 seconds left on the clock, and Romo had just marched down the field like a surgeon effing general. Imo it is well worth the look to see if u get a wide open guy and can end the game rite there. Sure a run play would have eaten up the 35 seconds but so would falling on your ass so why not take a look first than go down. If anything coughlin should be blamed for it is not cementing that in Elis ear. But when u have a veteran qb who has won two superbowls u shouldnt have to tell him "whatever you do dont throw the ball away". Duh.
