I agree, 100%And what you descrube is pretty much the case for every off the record "sourced" article. The source could be completely talking out of their arse and the "journalist" has no vantage point to know the veracity or lack thereof of the information. That sources interpretation could be completely off base. But the journalist-source relationship isn't exactly a 2-way street. The "source" has all the power to guide the narrative. It takes a reporter that gives a damn to check that sources information against other sources. But, most likely other "sources" won't be as forthcoming because leaking inside informaiton is frowned upon in the NFL (except in Washington where its rampant).
Unless Jason Cole is flat out making this up, he has a source, it doesn't speak highly of that source to be badmouthing Griffin. But that has been par for the course here for over a year.
