I usually agree with your assesments of players but this time I do not heed your OPINION of Portis. I will admit that I am guilty of being against the trade for Portis, but that was due to me not knowing what kind of player we were about to recieve.
Portis in my OPINION is one of the best if not the best in the league at picking up blitzes and throwing his body for a block. Also he is a TEAM player in every sense of the word. Portis came here and due to his play on the field he has turned me from being a doubting Thomas to a TRUE BELIEVER!!!
As I stated earlier in this thread and many times on this site when ever people start to thrash Portis, who else would you want? People tend to forget that we do not have Davis no more, we let him go for Candidate, that was a smooth move Spurrier. And until last season Betts was injured as often as Rex Grossman. So again who else would you want in our backfield?
I guess this is where I should request for forgiveness from one Mr. Clinton Portis. Make no bones about it, I am one of his biggest fans, and I am as happy as a child in a candy store that the Washington Redskins have him in there backfield.
