Signing Reyes and cutting Hatcher is not a 1 for 1 signing. He isn't Hatcher's replacement necessarily. He is just a depth guy.
McLovin is signing young depth for the D line. Reyes was a low level starter for SD, now we have another team's starter as a depth player.
McLovin obviously thought it was time to move on from a 34 year old Hatcher and a 400+ lb Knighton.
I am incredibly naive this time of year, but I don't think we will miss them.
