By all accounts Doctson will be a very good player for us over the years. But he's a ROOKIE. Even if he has a bang-up camp there's no way you can go into a season counting on a rookie to be an impact starter at a very important position.

And that ignores the most pertinent part - there's no reason to do this from a cap perspective.
