Could the O have played better and scored more points, absolutely. They aren't blameless in this loss but they did score 23 points which was enough to win in 10 of yesterday's games. The offense was good enough, the D was not.

In the micro view of yesterday's game, the blame lays primarily at the feet of Cousins simply because he missed three easy throws for TDs. But I get what you're saying from the long view standpoint.
Cousins and the offense have to be completely on point for this team to win. It was there for him to win the game yesterday, that's why I primarily blame Cousins. But the defense continues to be the unit that's completely non-contributory. There's not enough pass rush, they're not stout enough at the point of attack, the defensive game planning is crap, the inability to adjust is killing us, and aside from Norman there is nobody making exceptional plays consistently enough. The talent level is no better than average overall, and the coaching staff isn't elevating their talent with scheme and planning.
It's a completely dead-weight unit. The way it looks to me, the games we win the rest of the way will have been in spite of our defense, never because of it.
