This is a bad way of thinking...being able to consistently push the ball downfield...ie both medium range (10-25) and long range (25+ through the air) are vital to keeping defenses honest and off balance. Specifically for the passing game you get your Corners to play soft off the WRs, you get safety play back in 2 deep zones, and you get the underneath stuff to open up and be more effective. And specifically for the running game, the secondary plays back so that second level support takes longer to get there.
Franchise QB who can be accurate in medium and deep throws take offenses to the next level.
