I don't really get hung up on the tag and the money. It was perfect timing for Cousins. Just because he's making 20 million doesn't mean he's going to all of a sudden put the team on his back. He's just not that type of player. Not sure why it's so hard for some of you to realize that, or when he misses a pass it's.."well he's making 20 million, so he should be better!" That's just ridiculous.
So far is there a big difference between Hoyer and Cousins? I'd say probably not. If you put Hoyer in this offense he'd probably have similar numbers to Cousins. And I have always been pro Cousins, but that is a fair comparison.

I think a lot of us have developed certain expectations from Kirk given his performance and output during the second half of the season last year. Hence the reaction and criticism.
That being said, I will admit that this goes beyond Kirk. The coaching staff needs to figure out how to deal with these 3rd and short situations.
Having the defense perform better, should take some of the pressure form Kirk and the passing game. Now we need to get the running game and these short-yardage situations handled.
