Except he has the speed of a LB - and not a particularly fast LB - and, in the defense, that could be critical.
Since Barry doesn't assign a SS v. a FS, Cravens could end up covering the deep half of the field. While I am sure his study habits will improve his anticipation, you simply can't teach speed.
He really needs a creative DC to move him around and
find a defense that maximizes his potential. Alternatively, the Skins need to drop the non-designation and have their safeties playing traditional roles so that Cravens can develop as a true SS. To do so, however, would significantly alter the way the Skins play defense.
