Since Barry doesn't assign a SS v. a FS, Cravens could end up covering the deep half of the field. While I am sure his study habits will improve his anticipation, you simply can't teach speed.
He really needs a creative DC to move him around and find a defense that maximizes his potential. Alternatively, the Skins need to drop the non-designation and have their safeties playing traditional roles so that Cravens can develop as a true SS. To do so, however, would significantly alter the way the Skins play defense.

News flash: Jay Gruden thinks S'ua Cravens might make a good safety!
In other news, Jay Gruden and Joe Barry were each shown photos of the U.S. Capitol Building and the Washington Monument and both of them correctly identified the famous landmarks.
Cravens is a playmaker. He needs to be on the field and he fits as an in the box SS. So change the f'n coverages a little! If Barry can't figure it out, change the DC, too.
p.s. Draft or sign a true FS with speed and range while you're at it.
