It's like he's saying "Poor me, I'm only set up financially for one lifetime. I'm so worried that I won't get a contract with a $40M guarantee that will set me up for three lifetimes that I can hardly focus on my job." What a crock!

If anything, that kind of attitude, or excuse, makes him look like he lacks focus and mental toughness, which would make him exactly the type of QB I wouldn't want to sign to a long-term deal. Oh, I want him to be re-signed but I also want him to act like a man and stop whining and making far-fetched excuses for his inconsistent play. If he is a true competitor, then he doesn't need tens of millions more dollars so he can relax and continue striving to get better. He'll get more big money this season regardless of what he does but he shouldn't act as if worrying about the money has anything to do with his being able to improve his performance.
