Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
I think the Redskins probably got as much out of Scot as they had hoped to get. Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen are smart men. They knew when they hired him that it was just a matter of time before he fell off the wagon. That's because nobody can cure himself. Perhaps they asked him to go through rehab before they hired him and he refused. Of course, I don't know that but that is what alcoholics often do
They hired him anyway so they could benefit from his knowledge and skills until he could no longer function. They kept their own team of scouts in place and Scot trained them in how to run a scouting organization. I have no doubt that the Redskins are much better in the player personnel department now, even without Scot.
I hope Scot is in rehab. I hope he gets better and can come back to work. If he doesn't come back, I hope he can live a happy and productive life no matter what he chooses to do for a living. I believe that Scot will leave a positive legacy with the Redskins by having taught them how to do player personnel the right way.
