They both have talked about having a plan B and a plan C. It is possible that the agent over plays his hand with both.
I don't think it's likely but if both decide the price gets too high they both have alternate plans. The Vikings at least have to consider Keenum at 10M less, and the Jets could fall in love with a top qb at a rookie salary, even cap isn't a huge issue.
