We have $21M in cap space remaining. We should not have burned up $8M of it on Breeland when we have a pretty talented guy capable of starting on the ascent.
The team is right to pursue Richardson. There are very, very few speed guys on the market who can threaten a defense deep. That's a skill set we flat out didn't have on the roster. But other than that, day 1 free agency is where salary caps go to die.
The team is right to be patient and bargain hunt to fill out the rest of the needs. If they don't sign anybody for the rest of this week, it's a good sign. Remember, we got Zach Brown 3 weeks into the process last year and we got him for peanuts. We need 4 or 5 of those signings between now and April 1.

This is exactly why I'm starting to feel good about our FO excluding Cousins situation; the office messed up on Cousins situation (although it's hard to blame them because of little sample we had on Cousins in beginning) and they tried to make best out of this bad situation by trading for Smith. Also, the office aren't trying to win free agency wars anymore. I have to say, I'm quite impressed with Redskins FO so far although, I'm curious to see how they will handle RB situation since this area is something we have been lacking ever since Portis retired.
