The big problem with non CRT Tvs is that they cannot truely display the color black. Since black is technically the lack of all light a CRT is able to easily display a true black while LCDs and plasmas have to combine colors to make it. Most blacks wash out which you wouldn't think is much of an issue except that defintion is made by blacks. The nest generation of lcds and plasma will be far greater.
