Well he did have that one game in Dallas where we won....
But that game wasn't exactly won because of his dominance....
I agree with you though, it seems this has been a theme since the days of Ramsey/Wuerffel. Whenever the starting qb isn't putting out, fans always seem to think the backup can at least do better.
Also keep in mind even if Alex Smith stinks, A. he doesn't turn the ball over, and B. He has a 90 million dollar contract. He has to be given every opportunity to succeed before we give up on him (which we won't, because point A is a huge factor in winning games this year).
