Re: Texans Postgame

This is one of those calls that really, really bugs me in a "woulda shoulda" way. Generally, I am a firm believer that "blame it on the refs" is a BS attitude; play well enough so that it is not in the refs hands. However, there are times ...

For example, when blatant PI is non-called on the next to last play of the game (I think-at most there were two more plays including the failed FG), the refs had just called a ticky-tack foul on an opposing player minutes before - allowing opposing team to be in a position to score, and, the acknowledged blown call almost certainly changed the outcome of the game. Sure, the Skins should have played better, but, given the loss of their starting QB, they showed a lot of heart in not just folding.

The specific official responsible for the non-call should be disciplined and fined, and the Referee, as head of the officiating crew should be as well. Game changing sh** needs to be corrected.

SIDE RANT: What gets me these days is the uneven enforcement on penalties - particularly for PI & offensive and defensive holding. At this point, I just don't know game to game what is a penalty. ... and I am not just talking about the Skins games. You could be watching two games at the same time and a holding or PI penalty called in one is a no-call in the other. It's ridiculous.

SIDE RANT No. 2: I saw a recommendation that defensive should be changed so as not to include an automatic first down. I am behind that 100%.
