No kidding, anybody can look good in helmets and shorts. Even in preseason games for that matter. On another football fan forum I used to go to guys would get all excited about rookies, often ones that were playing in the 3rd and 4th quarters of preseason games. Being elected by fans to the preseason Hall of Fame gets you nothing. The thing that stands out to me are running backs that rack up the yards and carries in preseason games. Even if they look good if they are used a lot they most certainly end up not making the roster.
Thomas Clayton who was drafted by the 49ers in 2007 led the preseason in rushing in back to back years. He never played a down in a regular season game for them. He bounced around the league for a couple more years and racked up 15 regular season carries for a total of 29 yards.
