And #56Fanatic, I agree--if college can do it, the pros can as well--obviously the COllege folks looked at how the NFL was doing things and thought, hey, we've can do this better.

I am trying to imagine how making the refs full time nfl employees is going to make the league better (whatever you mean by better). The league is wildly popular, the games are exciting, the TV ratings are good, and the stadiums are full, sounds like a good league to me. The nfl has to focus on keeping that ball rolling.
Also full time refs will blow calls the same as part time refs. They are humans and humans make mistakes.
This team will not miss or make the playoffs because of the refs, they will make it because they make plays and score ,more points than the other teams. Had the redskins done that on sunday we would not even be discussing this today.
