Maybe we're all expecting too much from Patten. I think everybody would like a John Taylor, Alvin Harper, or Reggie Wayne in David Patten. But really, the scheme Gibbs is running just doesn't seem to concentrate on the #2 wide receiver all that much. Cooley has proven to be too effective to be relegated for the third option. So far, the passing game is running smoothly, so even though Patten stats aren't jumping off the page, I'm not complaining about this aspect of the team.
