First, why is Jared Goff on this list? He's been awful this year.
Second, the two best young QBs in this league, along with the greatest QB of all time, have defensively minded head coaches.
Russell Wilson
Lamar Jackson
Tom Brady
What is the point? That it does not matter if the head coach is offensive or defensively minded. The head coach is overseeing the entire team: coaching staff and players. He is not spending time developing a QB. He has a coaching staff to do that.
What is important about a head coach is not whether his background is offense or defense. Its that he's smart, a good leader, and assembles a staff that can develop players at all positions on the roster - including QB.
