8 years ago, i worked for a company as a consultant. My boss came to me and said his boss did not like the current arrangement. I needed to work more hours or take a pay cut. I walked and 6 months later i returned as the manager. Last year, the same guy (who is no longer a director) comes to me and really needed a favor. He asks me if i could hire his son. His son had been out of work for a while and needed employment. I asked him if he remembered 8 years ago and the ultimatum. He had forgotten the whole incident.
