Re: Club Level Sucks!

I’m sure many of you have read this article from the front page of the Post on Monday; if not check it out, it is very relevant to this discussion. The thing of it is is that I think both the rowdy and the not so rowdy fans have a point. The last thing I ever like to see at any sporting event is a father deciding if and when he and his 6 year old son have to leave the game because the crowd is yelling obscenities rapid fire; however, there was no greater feeling than making FedEx feel truly unwelcome for the Eagles and Raiders fans. I have to admit, I’m a bit jealous of the Eagles fans for having a stadium where opposing fans are not only reticent, but scared to come there (they beat up Chief there a couple years ago!). It’s a very tricky balance, too boorish and it’s a bad scene for the kids, too nice and opposing fans wind up outnumbering the home crowd (ie. any Wizards-Nicks game where MCI sounds more like Madison Square Garden). Where I completely disagree with CRT3 is on the fact of who I care about hurting if I become rowdy. As said before, it hurts me to see kids with their dads feeling scared about out-of-control rowdy fans (which to be fair to you, you mentioned as well), but I could absolutely care less about the feelings of those who come to a football game to close a business deal, business deals are for baseball and basketball games. You are correct; this is the big money world in which we live and that’s life, but when the fans get a chance to scream their heads off for 8 days a year, give them a break will ya, you're a big boy...
