Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins

Remember that while we were all here as fans last year for the Trent/Bruce standoff, the regime Trent had a serious problem with is gone. A new regime is here, one that won't feel emotionally dug in over Trent's holdout last year.

Rivera will reach out, interested in starting completely fresh. Blank slate. His interest will be to let bygones be bygones.

Trent will likely find that refreshing and likely find that his distaste for the organization is gone. But his financial concerns may not have been taken care of. If Trent needs more money this year to come in and play, then Rivera will likely decide whether it's worth it, or he'll trade him this year so he can go someplace and get that big deal.

It will end in a conciliatory fashion, no matter what, because of the new regime. I think Rivera's first preference will be to get him back into the fold and I'm guessing that given the cap space available, they'll find it worthwhile to guarantee some dollars and increase his pay.
