Re: Coronavirus (political)

I haven't read anything posted today on this thread.

Came here to just say its so hard to have a reasonable discussion on the interwebs about politics. Talking Skins here is easy. 99.00% of us agree they're the bees knees (even when we suck).

Specifically to Kung...J/K...COVID-19, there just isn't some simple 5 step rule book on how to handle a worldwide pandemic (that wasn't even started here/and was hidden by its place of origin). This isn't to say that the Trump administration couldn't have done many many things better (mainly just Trump shutting up sometimes). There are always things that can be done better during things like this, Katrina, etc. But its also not fair to think that everything (mostly in hindsight) should be done absolutely perfectly. There is no perfect way to handle this situation. Its killing people globally.

Non-specifically to COVID-19, there is a huge divide in people that support Trump and people that don't support him. As a supporter, I just feel like no matter what he does in any situation, people that don't support him are going to railroad him at every turn.

From the opposite perspective, I totally get why people would say people that support Trump literally won't admit he ever does anything wrong, ever! And I get that too. I've definitely been that guy once or a hundred times. Right or wrong, a lot of that is from being defensive because I don't think he gets a fair shake (so even when he's wrong I fight it sometimes).

The difficulty is discussing on the internet, because the context isn't always clear. I'd love drinking some beers with any of y'all and discussing sports or politics. I live in CA, at least 75% of the people I know are Democrat (including all my best friends here, my one conservative buddy moved back to CO), and I've had plenty of conversations about politics, with perfect reason (or at least drunk reason), respect, and no animosity. I'd damn near be willing to guarantee we would have the same reasonable/fun discussions if we were sitting next to each other with a picture of beer. Something to be said about being able to look another man/woman in the eyes when you discuss something as sensitive as politics.

Example) If we had "best" friends on this site, I'd consider Punch my best friend on the Warpath (he likes my drunk angry gameday rants, hell, he actually encourages them, more than the rest of you bastards combined). Politically, we would fight to the death here. In person, obviously we'd disagree on most things, but there are probably a lot of things we agree with too, that we don't even know about. And even if in person we still disagreed 100% on everything, I think we would have a great time. Fuck you Punch. I love you Punch.

God is good! HTTR! Hope everyone has a healthy weekend.
