It’s really the worst
They do, much like many massive community websites, Reddit has its' fair share of problems with unsavory communities using the platform.

What Chico won't tell you about are some of the small benefits Reddit offers.

A lot of news companies will source their news from Reddit, and you can even find newsworthy bits on there that won't receive mainstream coverage.

I also find Reddit to be a valuable resource for specific interests I have, as they have a very knowledgeable user base in many different subjects. Examples for me include sports, video games, photography, automotive/mechanical discussion, etc. They can be very helpful when you have a question but you don't know any experts on the subject.

And of course, if you like porn Reddit has a large community built around that too, I'm pretty sure that's how they started IIRC.

Also what's funny about Chico's post that I quoted, we both agree Reddit can be a source of bullshit, conspiracy theories, etc. but I guarantee you he's referring to the left, and I'm referring to the right. For years Reddit admins didn't do anything when radical conservatives were doxxing liberal users and using massive upvoting/downvoting to push their content to the front page, it was only when their radical communities started receiving media attention that they shut down subreddits like The_Donald/etc.
