Yes, but if Watson gets hurt, he's not going to be hurt for three years.
And I agree that it is a lot to give up, but if you are a team like Washington, which has a lot of pieces in place, and will have a lot of key talented players on rookie or inexpensive contracts, you can afford a trade like this.
Every potential move you make, whether it is drafting or acquiring a FA, has some degree of risk.
