Did people see that the Guardians are having issues with a roller derby club. LOL That's why you do a name search, and diligence and resolve things in the background.
Getting the new name, making sure the web and social media are going to work, and that copyrights and other legal niceties all takes time. If it was Snyder/Allen/Cerrato handling it, I would be petrified. But Rivera, Wright and the rest of the operations staff seem to have an actual clue how to do this right. I wish they would announce it, and move forward, but so far everything has been handled with aplomb so I will wait impatiently and hope RR pulls another 15-1 season out of his hat in the meantime.

I was reading an article about how Cleveland apparently didn't to something as simple as a Google search on Cleveland Guardians to see if it was being used and now they look like idiots. I'm sure they will be able to steamroll the roller derby team or give them a few million reasons to give up the name Guardians. This is exactly why WFT is taking their time to finalize their name change.
