It's hard to be a good color commentator. The play-by-play guys go to school for this and gain experience in lesser games before getting the big gigs. The Analyst/Color-Commentator is knowledgeable about football and that's their focus, not always great about the subtle parts of being a great announcer. I think Romo does a pretty damn good job. And I like his Corona commercials as a possible tie breaker.

He is actually great in commercials but for some reason that humor doesn’t translate when he is commentating.
