Hmmm, never thought of it that way. Should be a US holiday given those circumstances. That aside there shouldn't be official State holidays where the Confederacy is celebrated as they were committing treason, but I had a big problem with the mob actions of 2020 when they went after every and any statue (many of which weren't even tied to the Confederacy) that they determined shouldn't be up.
