I think the difference between the two situations is BB wasn't calling the offensive plays, McDaniels was. In KC it appears that AR is calling the plays, and while EB is obviously involved, his specific role isn't all that clear. He's definitely not autonomous, so how much credit does he deserve for the success of that offense?
