The reason you draft a QB in the mid or late rounds isn't necessarily to get your starter. It's for depth purposes.
QB's go down like any other position. Qb's underperform. If you keep 3 QB's then you need that developmental guy and your back up can be someone like Brissett. Sometimes guys fall like Howell did. That was a pure value pick.
Brissett has hung around the league for a while and is the perfect back up QB or lower tier starter. He was a 3rd rounder.
Always draft QB's because it is the most valuable position on the field and it has been drastically ignored here for a long time.
The last person ( who coached here) who actually got it right was Shanahan. He saw the value in Cousins and could not pass that up. Smart as hell pick. Ron was a little slow but at least the saw the value in Howell.
