The injury thing could possibly come from modern day NFL. These guys barely hit in camp. None of the starters play pre season. Then week one is here and now you're expected to play a full 60 minute game? You are going to get guys hurt those first few weeks.

Instead of being obsessed with not getting guys hurt in camp/ pre season, let them play some. Let their bodies get use to being hit and hitting/tackling.

Agree with this. They need to get acclimated to the rigors of live football some. Just throwing them out there without a decent amount of in game play is just asking for issues as we have now.
