Bill isn't gaining the yards he should be and while some of that is on the OL, he has a part to play. All told, that's a weak run game and it weakens play action, so we can be a bit 2 dimensional. Kind of thing that rears its ugly head on passing downs; QB knows he has to get the ball out quick so it's bombs away or hit the short guy and more often end up punting. It's great having excellent pass pro stats but its less effective if we're not converting those passing downs into 1st downs. But at least you know you're unlikely to get sacked when passing.

All of which is why I was bemused that DQ went for it on 4th in a lousy field position (and when we were not chasing the game) and worse, tried to make the 1st running up the middle (given we got 2 crucial 1st's at the end of the Seahawks game with outside runs). 🤔
I think Allegretti was thought he would be comparable to Biadasz I have heard in interviews with the press squad that the o line room thought so as well. Maybe he would’ve been fine with Tunsil there and Cosmi but it is so hard to get though 17 games without an o line injury.

That 4th down play was a bad call sometimes you have to try to win games 13-12. Definitely an indictment of DQ decision to go for it and Blough play call and personnel for the call
