Re: 2006 Hall of Fame Inductees

Art Monk was a finalist for the hall of fame this year - as he has been just about every year since he has been eligible. Give the committee credit for that because if you take a look at the finalists this year, there is a WR absent from the list whose numbers are BETTER than Art Monk's. He's not a long-time Redskin so he wasn't left off because of "Redskin Bias". Check out the numbers:

Art Monk:

3 consecutive Pro Bowl seasons
940 receptions
12,721 yards
13.5 yards per catch
68 TDs receiving
332 yards rushing - - zero rushing TDs

Andre Reed:

7 consecutive Pro Bowl seasons
951 receptions
13,198 yards
13.9 yards per catch
87 TDs receiving
500 yards rushing - - 1 rushing TD

And don't even bother to check out Michael Irvin's numbers because they don't measure up with either of these guys...

Oh, by the way, Russ Grimm deserves to be in the Hall of Fame because he was a damned good offensive lineman. And so do Kuchenberg and Zimmerman because they were damned good offensive linemen too.
