Assume that ESPN is correct that the Skins are currently $14 mil over at this moment (granted, assuming ESPN accuracy on anything is nearly as dangerous as going to a game in Philly). Parting ways with Hall, Tupa, Ramsey, Noble, Bowen, Brown, Farris and Frost gets that number down to about $3-5 mil.
Redoing deals with Griffin, Portis, Rabach, Samuels, Springs and Washington puts us about $10-12 mil under. Making a commitment to Lavar would allow for an even better 2K6 number.
In a depressed market, $10-15 mill could go a long way.
I'm not saying this is what is going to happen, just what is possible. There is a danger that Ashburn is going to be ground zero in salary cap Armageddon. But there is also a possibility that they may be over there manufacturing massive amounts of lemonaid.

Very well put!!
