The Philadelphia Eagles signed former New Orleans defensive end Darren Howard to a six-year, $30 million contract on Monday in an attempt to upgrade their defensive line.

It includes $10.5 million in guaranteed money, according to a person familiar with the deal who spoke on condition of anonymity because the terms weren't released.
