Anyhow, it's so rare to find an athlete who knows when to quit. If you're at the top of your game you think "why can't I do this another year or more?" and if you slip you think "why can't I bounce back?"

Some of the past century's greatest athletes (such as Ruth, Mays, Unitas, Emmitt) finished with disappointingly uncharacteristic results, sometimes embarrasingly so. But in the long run, I don't think it does any damage to their legacy.

I think Favre will play one more season and it will be his "farewell tour" I think he wants to play his last game knowing its his last game. So the Aaron Rodgers era will begin in 2007, IMO.
