Re: F... idiot drivers
I'm convinced that once you've driven in the DC Area, everywhere else (aside from NYC and LA) is a cakewalk. I drive almost 70 miles roundtrip every day, and see the most asinine things on my journey. Women putting their makeup on, people talking on their cell phones (no hands free), drinking coffee and driving, people reading a book, paper, map...in the far left lane. My biggest pet peeve is people driving in the fast lane, doing the speed limit because they are talking on their cell phone...look up to realize they have to get off right now, and cut across 4 lanes of traffic to do so, instead of going up to the next exit to turn around.
And...I'm notorious for trying to trap HOV violators in the HOV lane. There are days where 6-7 out of 10 cars that pass me in the HOV lane are single riders. Who do these people think they are?!?!?!
What makes my blood boil is when trying to merge onto an interstate, that is 4 lanes wide, you have someone hugging the right lane (the lane you are trying to merge into) and will not move over (even though there is plenty of room to do so)...will speed up so that you have to hit your brakes...and then slow down once you are behind them, to have to hit your brakes again.
I do have my faults...I'll ride the merging lane until the end, however I will have my turn signal on, and will merge over earlier if there is ample room to do so without people having to hit their brakes. If done properly, a zipper merge is quite effective.
